Tegelgroep consolidates three warehouses in one location. The wall and floor tile specialist wants to create efficiency and make room for product growth with a central distribution centre.
Construction will start this month on the building in Bemmel, in the middle of the Arnhem/Nijmegen region. The new building will cover 21,000 square metres, will have a height of over 12 metres and additional loading capacity. Goodman Group is responsible for the development of the distribution centre to be built. It is aiming for BREEAM Very Good sustainability certification.
Optimising distribution process
The distribution centre replaces three old locations of the company. With the consolidation, Tegelgroep aims to optimise the distribution process to customers in the Netherlands.
"All our products are currently spread across three warehouses, causing several logistical challenges," says Frank van der Weide, operational director at Tegelgroep Nederland. By consolidating everything in one distribution centre, we can serve our customers better and more professionally and save costs through lower transport costs."
