Sligro has started building a 'delivery service distribution centre' in Maastricht. The property is part of a redesign of Sligro's logistics network.
The facility in Maastricht, near the A2 motorway, will have an area of 16,703 square metres, including over 15,000 square metres of logistics space.
Delivery service distribution centres
The new building is part of a larger investment project; Sligro wants to optimise delivery to customers by revamping its network of delivery-service distribution centres. Existing locations will be enlarged and new branches will be added to the network. The facility in Maastricht will have South Limburg as its service area.
Sustainability
The new building will be built without gas by Aan de Stegge Twello, which was also responsible for the construction of the delivery-service distribution centre in Deventer. During construction, the parties are striving for the 'BREAAM Excellent' sustainability label. Heating is provided by heat recovery from the central cooling system. Water-saving facilities, LED lighting and a wadi for water storage and infiltration on the site will be used. The building will also be made suitable for PV panels.
Completion is scheduled for the end of 2019, just before Christmas.
