If it is up to Amazon, same-day delivery is the future. The etail giant is going to deliver orders worldwide within a day, Amazon announced via several job ads. This is what Reuters writes on the basis of the following text in Amazon's ads: 'Our long-term vision is for customers worldwide to receive same-day delivery.' This ambition would also apply to third parties selling through Amazon's platform.
Building distribution centres
Amazon already offers one-day delivery in the UK. To achieve this,
the company works in partnership with distributor Connect Group. In the US, this is proving more challenging because the distances are greater. The retailer is therefore busy building distribution centres so that Amazon can easily reach every US state.
eBay has stopped offering same-day delivery
eBay has decided to withdraw its same-day delivery app from the market. According to the company, the delivery service was too expensive and demand was not high enough.
